Friendshipping

I’m one half of Friendshipping - a podcast about friendship that begat a book and a newsletter.

My creative partner Jenn Bane and I co-wrote Friendshipping: The Art of Finding Friends, Making Friends, and Being Friends. It came out in November 2020.

The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, and Publishers Weekly had nice things to say about it.

We’ve also made other things. You can have a look at some of them below.

Other Friendshipping Projects

Friendship Postcards

The most delightful, least threatening way to reach out to someone is a postcard. It’s cute, it gets right to the point, and you don’t even have to open it.

We ran a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project and were overwhelmed by the response. 1,326 backers pledged $47,165 to make the thing happen.

Jenn and I wrote the copy for 55 out of 60 postcards.

(Patrick Rothfuss and his best friend Thera wrote the remaining five.)

JoCo Cruise Pins

The JoCo Cruise showrunners asked us: How can we make a cruise ship full of nerds a less awkward place?

This set of 2” pins was born. Jenn and I wrote the copy, put together vague drawings of what we were after, and contacted our design buddy Lauren Gallagher. It went so well that the cruise printed them for two more voyages.

Friendshipping Tagline Pins

We also worked with Lauren to create enamel pins of our show’s tagline, “Do friendship at the problem.”
